The gold mine

by admin on Mar.07, 2010, under My rock stories

My friend and I were at our old school and we were digging a hole and we found a gold mine. We thought we found real gold but it wasn’t and wo we took it to our teacher and she told us that it wasn’t real. She said we found fools gold and we were so happy because we could sell the fools gold for money but she would not let us sell it. She told us to put the fools gold back into the hole and bury it.

The California cove

by admin on Mar.05, 2010, under My rock stories

Last year my sister, brother, mom, and dad were at a cove in California. My sister brother and I were in a cave and we were walking on rocks that had barnacules on them and the waves were bringing in rocks and I found a gold looking rock and I wish I could show you the rock but I cannot because I threw it in the lake behind the house we stayed in when we were there.

The crystal thief

by admin on Feb.23, 2010, under My rock stories

It was at my old school and it was lunch recess and my friend was doing what we always did at recess collecting and hiding rocks. I went to get some more crystal rocks and my friend was guarding the ones we already found and I was coming back with crystal rocks and my friend was going to get crystal rocks and he needed help finding where the rocks were. So, I went to help him find them and someone stole the crystals and when we came back they were gone. We found out who took them, he wanted to be helping us search not just watching.

The fight for a rock

by admin on Jan.10, 2010, under My rock stories

It started out as a good day as we usually do at lunch and recess, at my old school, we collect rocks. My friend found a rock and it was completly see through except for some black spots and it turned into a fight over that rock. Finally my friend decided to give me the rock and so at the end of recess he asked for it back and I didn’t have it and that turned into another fight. Then the next day we looked for the rock around the tree, by the swings and over by the big oak tree, and that day my friend found it again and eat some tree sap and that turned into an argument that turned into an argument about the rock again. Once that was over it went onto the next day. This would have been a Thursday and he argued with me again about the rock even though I found it and gave it to him he still argued with me. Finally on Friday the teacher stopped it from happening again and that was the day my head ended up in a giant hole.

My sisters rocks from southern California

by admin on Jan.10, 2010, under My rock stories

As you know my family went to California over the summer and found a mine. My sister found rocks there too and some of them are very rare. She found a piece of pencil tourmaline and some of the others are rare but not a lot. There are some rocks that look like they have shells in them and those are rare too but pencil tourmaline is more valuable than fossil rocks. My brother found some rocks there as well but we don’t know where they are. Some of his rocks look like ruby’s and sapphires and one that you will almost always find in a mine is fools gold, which is iron pyrite. I will be adding pictures of my sisters rocks soon.

The first time I found a rock

by admin on Jan.09, 2010, under My rock stories

As you know most people when they find a hobby, they think should I have this hobby or not? If you come here often you know that I collect rocks for a hobby, but I am not like most people, I didn’t find my hobby my hobby found me and that’s when I started finding the cool rocks that I talk about on this blog. My friend, that I talk about frequently, helped me find this hobby and I help him find new ways to find rocks and that is how he found the rock that we broke in half. The first rock that I found was one that looked like a golden couch.

The eye of the dragon

by admin on Jan.09, 2010, under My rock stories

At my old school, about the middle of the year, 2 of my friends and I were digging a hole. When we were digging the hole I found around 20 rocks but the coolest one of them all was one in the shape of a dragons head. Later on in the day I showed my friends, and I would show you a picture if I still had it, but it either was lost or broken. Even though that was the coolest one of them all I did find some others with crystal, silver and gold colors in them, they were cool too, but my favorite was the dragon head and I really wish I knew what happened to it. There was another cool rock I found in that hole it was in the shape of a cross and looked like it was crystal and gold.

My last collecting adventure before I changed schools

by admin on Jan.09, 2010, under My rock stories

As you know most kids are excited on the last day of school, but my friend and I thought that we should take the last day as the last collection day. That was when I found my chefs hat rock, and my friend found a rock that was completly clear in the shape of a heart that looked like it was broken in half, so we tried breaking it totally in half. Once we had it broken in half he handed me the other half. My friend and I kept each half as a sign of our friendship.

I found them in the sluse in Juliene. This site was not only a gold mine but they also found many other semi precious stones as well as pencil tourmeline.
